Decagon

People say life is a circle. You end up where you start from. You get what you give. It is a symbiotic relation. I think a bit differently. I consider life to be a decagon. And each side of the decagon is a digit, zero through nine. Our wishes, wants, lives, deaths, everything, revolves around this. No, this is no numerology. But if I am able to put through what I mean, I think you will start seeing it as I do. Zero through nine. Small to big. Back to small. Get bigger again. The smallest of the biggest. The biggest of the smallest. Each line spurs a thought in your mind, just like it did when I wrote them. It is all relative. Back to the concept I always keep talking about. Relativity.

But that is not what’s really important. Important here is to know the ten phases, and that they are not sequential, but rather spiral. Ever heard of the spiral model of software development life cycle? You might not have, but that is somewhat based on the same lines. You keep doing the same thing, repeatedly, again and again and again. Agility. Great people have come and gone, and they have said, “Once is a mistake, twice is foolish.” Their saying is wrong on so many levels I cannot even begin to describe. Donโ€™t we keep repeating the same mistakes always? Just because they are not exactly same and not in the exact same context, we think we have done a new mistake, but in the end it is all the same. You make a mistake in a code, it crashes. You make a mistake with your girl, your date crashes. You make a mistake and be rude to your children, your fatherhood crashes. Crashing. One of those things that we have always tried to overcome, and havenโ€™t been successful yet.

“Decagon” is a series of ten posts. Zero through nine. And though they will talk about various different things, the unifying theme is the same. Life. And the way everything sums up to the same. You add three and two and seven, or you add seven and three and two, it is the same. However you live it, whichever path you choose, at the end, we will all die the same. So stop thinking so much, stop worrying about your day, live your life and own it. Don’t let your boss own your life, donโ€™t let your emotions and sentiments own your life, because when all is said and done, the only one responsible for how you’ve lived, is you.

I hope you enjoy the new series “Decagon” and find it to be something that you can always come back and relate to, however you are living, be it rich, poor, happy, sad, turmoil, relaxed, impatient, cool, angry, upset, depressed, elated, however. It doesn’t really matter, because emotion is a state of the mind, and there is much more to your life than just that stupid silly mind. Have fun!

  1. What are you talking about bruh? I ALWAYS agree with you, even when I don’t. In the process, we share our thoughts, expand our mind and connect to the most essential which is our deeply held beliefs. So, it’s wonderful right? Haha. If you want, I will leave comment in each one of your blog. Just am afraid I will get onto your nerves. Lol.

I like how you put it “I ALWAYS agree with you, even when I donโ€™t”. Sounds so happy. Is that your resolution for today? To make everyone happy? ๐Ÿ˜€
Yes it is wonderful to connect to someone, seas apart, never seen, never talked, but only synced so harmoniously through simple posts on blogs. And will you leave a comment in each one of my posts? ๐Ÿ˜› For that, you’ll have to read each and every one of them. There are 277 of them, so I think I will get on your nerves in a couple of hours. ๐Ÿ˜›

      1. No, my resolution is to annoy you. Haha. You sound like a morning person huh? Full of energy and cool air. You make me laugh over here. Do I sound happy to you? Nah ah, super ecstatic. I just finally get out of something consuming me for a long time. So I want to share the joys with ya. You wrote that much? damn. I read most of them though. Does it count?

        1. I am not really a morning person, except on weekends. You see, my work is very gruelling, so I stay stuck up for five days a week. Saturdays and Sundays, well, that is the time I am really happy. ๐Ÿ˜€ You sound happy, ay that’s true. And you sound relaxed too. So what was this thing that was consuming you for so long?

            1. One of the foremost reasons I am not in a relationship. Work and family is already dulling my mind beyond limits. Yes you sound like one. But you are not. Where was I wrong? ๐Ÿ˜› You’re from Vietnam right, (did that creep you?), so isn’t it afternoon really? ๐Ÿ˜›

              1. I am spamming your blog now where more articulating, insightful comments comments exist. Unfortunately, I am not. I am older than you, mister, I believe. I am in Canada. So, it’s night time here.

                1. Oh, so I was wrong the entire time. Shit! And I should have realized you’re from Canada or the States, because my stats showed visits from only America. I don’t exactly remember why I said Vietnam though. ๐Ÿ˜› Yeah I’ve written about me on “About Me”, so if you think you are elder, you must be! And it’s night for you. Friday night.

  2. This post is amazing. I agree with all of what you said. So inspiring. I like how you corporate the gist of Numerology into a much complex concept. Yes, small to big and vice versa. All we can do is to speculate the mystery of the universe.
